The beneficiary of the Jijenge Kijana Fund 2017 was a volunteer who had joined ITF as Project Assistant in April 2015 and remained an active member after her tenure in December of the same year. She had a vision of starting the business ’Shie’s Nail Bar", whose purpose is to provide services such as nailcare and skincare in Rongai (Nairobi). On November 21, 2017, the Jijenge Kijana Fund of Ksh 41,000 was approved for her to start her business. The business, however, did not take off as expected.
