ITF provides environmentally-friendly, refillable water bottles to school children and community residents in Kenya and Rwanda, addressing water-related health and environmental issues. In areas where unsanitary sources are common, children often use their hands or single-use containers, risking water-borne diseases and school absenteeism. Reusable bottles ensure access to clean water, reduce waste, and minimize water bills in communities with safe water sources. To date, ITF has distributed 26,871 bottles, fostering awareness about sustainability and the impact of single-use plastics while improving health and education outcomes.
Drinking Water Challenges
In many Kenyan and Rwandan communities, people and children drink water from unsanitary sources using their hands or discarded single-use containers. This exposes them to water-borne diseases and environmental harm due to plastic waste
School Water Issues
In schools with access to clean water, wastage is high as children drink water using their hands. This raises water bills and increases the risk of illness, leading to absenteeism and school dropouts
